Change from Default ISP DNS to Top Alternative DNS Servers

An Alternate DNS Server acts as an alternative to your default DNS server. If the DNS server of your ISP is slow, the time it takes to resolve the web address adds up to the overall loading time of the website.
In Windows, to change to any alternative dns servers, simple add the following server addresses to your LAN and Internet connection (any). Go to Network Connections > Right Click on Local Area Connection > Properties

For eg: Update the default DNS server to point to the alternate DNS nameserver at preferred an alternate (see below for the addresses).
For Linux systems, we must edit the resolv.conf file, and specify which "nameserver" we will use along with the DNS address.

Ideal for schools and businesses. To use your server: 208.67.222.222 (Primary DNS) and 208.67.220.220 (Secondary DNS).
• Advantage DNS : Advantage DNS resolves all DNS requests through the UltraDNS Directory Services Platform, thus substantially improves navigation. 156.154.70.1 (Primary DNS) and 156.154.71.1 (Secondary DNS).
• ScrubIT : And the last alternative is ScrubIT, a DNS server that regulates the connection filter disallowing dangerous websites. 67.138.54.100 (Primary DNS) and 207.225.209.66 (Secondary DNS).
