Open Multiple Word Documents in One Window to View, Edit Easily

If you working with a lot of ms-office word documents then you will notice unlike the older versions the latest ms-office 2003+ creates separate taskbar tabs for each document window. Switching from one document to another becomes an added stress if there are many. Here are simple ways to open multiple word documents one window for better ease of use.

How to Edit Multiple Word Files from a Single Office Window

# Disable "Multiple Taskbar Windows For Each Document"

Step 1: Click the Office Button on the top left corner, choose Word Options.



Step 2: Select Advanced Tab and on the Right Pane, scroll down to the Display Options



Step 3: Uncheck "show all windows in the taskbar". Then click Ok and you’re done.

Note : After the above steps, you can open, edit multiple word files from one window all of them can accessed from the View tab in the office ribbon (see below). You can arrange them as you like.

Kapal Studi Riset Milik Amerika Mulai Masuki Perairan Indonesia

Kapal riset Amerika Serikat dari National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Okeanos Explorer, mulai memasuki wilayah perairan Indonesia di Jakarta Utara, Jumat (18/6).

"Dijadwalkan kapal ini akan bersama-sama kapal Republik Indonesia dari BPPT, Baruna Jaya IV, melakukan eksplorasi kolaboratif di laut dalam perairan Sangihe-Talaud, Sulawesi Utara," kata Ketua Corporate Branding and Marine Communication, Conservation International (CI) Indonesia Elshinta Suyoso-Marsden di Jakarta, Kamis (17/6).

Kegiatan ini, ujar dia, merupakan bagian dari bentuk kerjasama kemitraan jangka panjang RI - AS untuk bersama memajukan ilmu kelautan, teknologi dan pendidikan yang penting bagi ekonomi dan lingkungan bagi kehidupan di bumi ini.

Eksplorasi bersama ini merepresentasikan berbagai inisiatif yang pertama kalinya dilakukan oleh kedua negara yang memiliki persamaan karakteristik yaitu memiliki wilayah kelautan yang sangat luas di dunia, ujar Elshinta.

Pada ekspedisi internasional Okeanos Explorer untuk pertama kalinya ini akan bersama-sama dilakukan eksplorasi wilayah laut dalam yang belum pernah disibak kerahasiaannya ini selama sekitar dua bulan.

Okeanos juga akan mengirimkan berbagai data yang diperoleh dari penjelajahan laut dalam itu secara seketika (real time) berupa tampilan gambar-gambar hidup dan data lainnya secara langsung kepada para pakar, peneliti dan ilmuwan yang menonton dari kedua Pusat Komando Penelitian (Expedition Command Center/ ECC) di Jakarta dan Seattle, AS.

Peresmian ECC akan dilakukan oleh Kepala Badan Riset Kelautan dan Perikanan (BRKP) - Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) serta disaksikan oleh Dubes AS untuk Indonesia dan para mitra peneliti dari institusi riset ilmiah lainnya.

Diharapkan eksplorasi ini dapat menghasilkan penemuan baru, memetakan dasar laut, memahami lokasi gunung bawah laut dari sisi geologi, biologi dan spesies.

Para Ilmuwan yang diperkirakan akan berpartisipasi dalam ekspedisi ilmiah tersebut (data Kementerian Ristek 2009) antara lain Sugiharto Wirasantosa, Budi Sulistyo dari BRKP, KKP; Yusuf Surachman Djajadihardja dan Ridwan Djamaluddin dari BPPT; Haryadi Permana dari Pusat Penelitian Geoteknologi, LIPI.

Kemudian Noorsalam Nganro, Hasanuddin Abidin, dan Sofyan Hadi dari Institut Teknologi Bandung; Hamdan Abidin dari Pusat survei Geologi, Kementerian ESDM; Dede Yuliadi dari Dishidros Mabes TNI AL dan Iswinardi dari Ditwilhan, Kemenhan.

Sedangkan tujuh ilmuwan Amerika Serikat diperkirakan: Stephen Randolph Hammond sebagai Chief Scientist dari NOAA; Russell Eugene Brainard, Adjuct Faculty dari Coral reef Ecosystem Division, NOAA; Patricia Barb Fryer, Planetary Scientist dari University of Hawaii, Hawaii Institute of Geophysics and Planetology; James Francis Holden dari Dept. of Microbiology, University of Massachussets.

Jadikan format *.doc Sebagai Penyimpanan Default pada Microsoft Word 2007

Banyak penguna software Office Microsoft Word 2007 sering mengalami keluhan, karena file yang mereka simpan tidak bisa di buka pada Office Word 2003. Sebenarnya sebelum menyimpan file word kita meng-save as dengan file berekstensi *.doc agar file tersebut bisa dibuka pada Word 2003. Tapi, bagaimana bila kita lupa menganti ekstensi file tersebut ? Sudah tentu file akan tersimpan dalam ekstensi default-nya Office 2007 yaitu *.docx.

Ada alternatif lain menjadikan bentuk penyimpanan dalam Office Microsoft Word berekstensi *.doc sebagai bentuk file penyimpanan default (tetap) dalam Microsoft Word 2007 untuk menganti ekstensi *.docx dalam Word 2007. Caranya :

1. Jalankan Microsoft Word 2007


2. Klik “Logo Office > Word Options” yang terdapat di sisi kiri atas untuk membuka jendela Word Options.


3. Pada jendela Word Options, klik menu save, kemudian pada save documents pada “save files in this format” anda klik dan pilih format yang akan dipakai. Klik ”Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc).


4. Klik “OK” untuk menerapkan perubahan yang telah dilakukan.


5. Sekarang setiap anda akan menyimpan files dalam Microsoft Office Word 2007 akan tersimpan dalam files yang berformat *.doc.
