Google is really working hard on the safety of its Android users, therefore in order to protect its users from malicious apps Google is even using the remote removal for Android apps. Apparently, both Google and Apple are capable of remotely removing apps but we never expected to see that in action.
Recently Google has removed two applications from all Android phones on the market. As you know, there are thousands of apps available on Android Market and in order to keep all users safe Google has implanted the remote removal feature on all apps. Therefore if any app violates Android Market Developer Distribution Agreement or Content Policy it can be removed remotely by Google from all the phones on which it has been installed. Of course, if any application has been removed remotely users would receive notification on their phone.

According to Google, two applications have been removed remotely. Both applications were free and both of them were developed by security researches for research purposes. In order to get more downloads these applications have been represented in a false manner by the developers. Although these applications weren’t harmful to the users they were completely useless and they were manually uninstalled by users. Shortly after that, developers have removed the applications from Android Market and in order to clean up the remaining copies of the app Google has initiated remote removal of the app.
Remote app removal is a feature that helps protect Android users all over the world in case of the massive spread of malicious applications. That way Google has provided a decent level of security for all its Android OS users. Since there are many applications that can harm your phone remotely, this seems like a drastic measure but effective. If Google can remove apps remotely from your phone, have you thought what else can it do with your phone?
